Discussion, also from the Cultural Alliance of Long Beach, for an improv jam session for the city

of Norwalk's Artastic Competition and Scholarship Program.

(We are scheduled to perform from about 4:30 pm to 4:50 pm)

Art Submittal Dates: February 25 - 28

Art Exhibit Dates: March 13 - 15

Cost: Free


This year marks our 5th annual "Artastic" program. Don't miss out on this award winning special event that celebrates the arts and highlights the Cultural

Arts Center's programs and classes. This event is for the entire family and will feature free art activities and projects, multiple art exhibits, entertainment,

a fundraising dinner, and a Community Art Competition. All high school and middle school students who reside within the City of Norwalk, attend school in

Norwalk, or attend school in the Norwalk/La Mirada Unified School District are invited to compete in the art competition. Every piece of artwork submitted

will be displayed on the exhibit dates, listed above, and a special Artist Reception will be held for all participating artists and their friends and family on

Saturday, March 15. A total of $400 in scholarships will be awarded to top artists. 


Accepted media includes: photography, drawing, painting, sculpture and computer art.


All artwork must be mounted, matted, or framed.  For more information, stop by to see

A Latin Evening X

Maha and Company presents: Motile

During the much celebrated monthly Long Beach Twighlight Walk,

Maha and Company will becelebrating life and movement in Motile.

Company will be presenting new dance works and repertoir at the

Cultural Alliance of Long Beach, where we are the resident dance

company.  Admission is free, but donations are welcome.  The per-

formances will be held both inside the building and out in the street.

This promises to be a fun night and we hope you can 

come and join us.

Mix Match Dance Festival

​Come join Maha and Company as we perform in the 8th annual Mix Match

Dance Festival presented by the Hart Pulse Dance Company. We will be 

Thursday the 28th, and Sunday the 31st.

We'll be bringing more than 60 dances in Hip Hop, Ballet,

Tap, Modern, Tribal, Contemporary, Jazz, Belly, Pole & more

from choreographers gathering from Southern California

and across the United States to Santa Monica for four great

shows in one amazing weekend.  Each performance boasts a

different line-up, making MixMatch one of L.A.'s most

diverse and valued dance festivals."

LA County Fair Parade

Maha and Company will be at the Los Angeles County Fair Parade to celebrate

Mexican Independence Day. Come watch as we go by on one of the floats

dancing, and passing out beads! Then after, you can enjoy the rest of the

fair. Eat great food, listen to great music, do a bit of shopping, and maybe

even take a picture with the worlds largest cow!

Baja Splash Cultural Festival 

The Aquarium of the Pacific will be hosting a Baja Splash Cultural

Festival on September 28th and you are all invited to come join!

Maha and Company will be teaching how Hispanic dance moved

and evolved throughout history! All of this in front of one of the 

giant fish tanks. There are no special ticket to buy, but you do

need to pay for admission into the Aquarium.

The Saint Bernard Church will be hosting their annual Fall Festival! There

will be plenty of live entertainment, including Maha and Company, Bingo, lots

of food, and plenty of games with prizes to win. There will be a raffle

where you can win totally awesome prizes. The Fall Festival will

October 3-5 all at their respective times (check flyer for details).

The event is totally free so please come watch and support! Then after,

Norwalk Halloween Parade

Marching bands from throughout the south lands will perform alongside

ghouls and goblins in this year's Halloween Parade. The parade begins

at the intersection of Pioneer Boulevard and Mapledale Street and will

conclude at Hermosillo Park. Residents are encouraged to participate

by dressing up in their favorite Halloween costume and marching in the

parade. A costume contest will be conducted at the corner of Pioneer

Boulevard and Mapledale Street at 9:15am. Pre-registration is not 

required. Businesses, service organizations, and clubs are encouraged

to participate in this free program!

"The Arab American Film Festival is sponsoring House of

Lebanon “Beyond Borders” Film Screenings, to be

featured during our 2014 “Beyond Borders” Art Exhibition

Long Beach Community Theatre 

Long Beach Community Theatre is hosting it's second "...On Childhood"

at the Cultural Alliance of Long Beach, where Maha and Company is

based. We were gladly invited to submit our own piece that was choreographed

by many members of the group on our childhoods, alongside other

stories on childhoods of other people. The performance of ...on Childhood!

will be held at the Cultural Alliance of Long Beach located at
